Dermatophytosis in Cattle


Bovine, skin. There are multiple raised pale tan crusted lesions. Dermatophytosis
One of the most common skin diseases of cattle. Seen mainly in the winter months, in young animals, often in outbreaks. Lesions are found predominantly on the head and neck, but all parts of the body can be affected. Organism usually TRICHOPHYTON VERRUCOSUM or T. MENTAGROPHYTES. A vaccine against T. VERRUCOSUM is in use in Europe.
